A list of things Nashville should avoid….
#1 – THIS. Nashville does not need a Music City Dome.
Keep in mind that the Music City Center ($635M), Bridgestone Arena ($144M), and LP field ($144M out of $290M) are all relatively new facilities in the city of Nashville, all three largely funded by taxpayer dollars.
Before we go out and spend $500m-$1B on a domed stadium for a city that has an annual snowfall of 5.8 inches, it would make sense to consider what this kind of a spend would mean for the residents of Nashville. Of course, this could all be achieved with yet another an increase in property taxes for Davidson County residents, which is nothing Nashville Mayor Karl Dean or our esteemed Metro Council can’t handle.
